The Technological Educational Institute of Epirus was founded in 1994.
According to law 2916/2001, both T.E.I. and Universities belong to the Higher Education Section.
The T.E.I. of Epirus is a Legal Public Entity and a self-governing body according to Law 1404/83.
Overall supervision of the state is exercised by the Ministry of Education.
The T.E.I. of Epirus has a main campus and its administration seat in Arta and has branch campuses in the three other main cities of Epirus, Ioannina, Igoumenitsa and Preveza.
It has four (4) Faculties and thirteen (13) Departments.
